Jonathan Ward is a drummer based in South East England currently working with a variety of artists as both a sideman and session musician.
Born and raised in Margate, Kent, he began playing the drums at the age of 4 and took up formal lessons a few years later. Whilst there he was fortunate enough to study drums under tutors James Maddren, Gene Calderazzo, Asaf Sirkis and Dave Wickins.
Jonathan has had the privilege of playing at venues and festivals within the capital and across the UK including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, The Vortex Jazz Club, Southbank Centre, Village Underground, The Great Escape Festival and Neverworld Festival.
Jonathan enjoys being part of an eclectic mix of music making, and continues to record and perform around the UK.
